Boys Track Update

On Monday of April 29th, the PCM boys track team traveled to North Polk.

 

Out of 7 teams, consisting of Green County, Nevada, Roland Story, South Hamilton, North Polk, and Johnston, PCM placed first with a score of 124. 5. Green County placed second with a score of 109, Nevada placed third with a score of 88, Roland Story placed fourth with a score of 84, South Hamilton placed fifth with a score of 67, North Polk placed sixth with a score of 63.5, while Johnston placed seventh with a score of 39. Here are the stats from the PCM boys track meet. 

 

The PCM 800 sprint medley team, consisting of sophomore Evan Jones, seniors Gabe Hobbs and Jake Wednt, and junior Tad Wilson, placed 2nd with a time of 1:40.25. 

 

The 4×100 meter team, consisting of sophomore Gavin Steenhoek, juniors Gavin VanGorp, Tad Wilson, and Jake Winters, finished 4th with a time of 45.92 while senior Jack Jungling, juniors Trigg Steenhoek, Gavin DeRaad, and Brevin DeRaad, finished 6th with a time of 48.66. 

 

The 4×200 meter team, consisting of sophomore Evan Jones, seniors Griffin Olsen, Jake Wendt, and Gabe Hobbs, placed 1st with a time of 1:31.25 while freshman Jaden Houser, sophomore Chase Wagaman, junior Fin Wilson, and senior Carter Burns, finished 8th with a time of 1:41.51.

 

The 4×110 meter shuttle hurdles team, consisting of freshman Jaden House, juniors Jake Winters and Gavin VanGorp, and senior Griffin Olsen, finished 1st with a time of 1:02.85.

 

The 4×400 meter team, consisting of freshman Joey Ferneding, sophomore Evan Jones, junior Riley Graber, and senior Gabe Hobbs, placed 1st with a time of 3:36.88.

 

The 4×800 meter team, consisting of sophomore Joe Shaver and Coby DeRaad, freshman Kolby Clark, and junior Carsen Hanson, placed 1st with a time of 8:52.61.

 

The distance medley team, consisting of juniors Trigg Steenhoek, Tad Wilson, and Brevin DeRaad, and senior Jack Jungling, finished 5th and had a time of 4:08.01.

 

Senior Carter Burns placed 5th in the 100 meter race with a time of 11.92 while placing 7th in the 200 meter race with a time of 25.15. Senior Jack Jungling placed 8th in the 200 meter race with a time of 25.18. Senior Griffin Olsen placed 1st in the 400 meter hurdles race with a time of 57.51. Senior Austin VanMaanen placed 4th in the discus throw and had a distance of 115-09. Senior Mark Bussan placed 1st in the boys shot put with a distance of 47-08.

 

Junior Gavin VanGorp placed 1st in the 110 meter race with a time of 15.67 while junior Jake Winters placed 2nd with a time of 16.48. Junior Riley Graber placed 2nd in the 400 meter race with a time of 52.83 while junior Gavin DeRaad placed 10th with a time of 58.69. Junior Carson Hanson finished 7th in the 1600 meter race and had a time of 5:07.71 while junior Wyatt Vannoy finished 16th with a time of 5:54.45. Junior Harlan Shannon placed 3rd in the boys discus throw and had a distance of 122-06 while placing 9th in shot put with a distance of 38-10.. Junior Jake Winters finished 5th in the boys high jump with a height of 5-04. 

 

Sophomore Alex Wednt placed 10th in the 100 meter race with a time of 12.28 while sophomore Gavin Steenhoek placed 11th with a time of 12.37. Steenhoek also placed 4th in the 400 meter hurdles and had a time of 1.00.36. Sophomore Joe Shaver placed 6th in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:1164. Sophomore Coby DeRaad placed 8th in the 1600 meter race with a time of 5:10.74. Sophomore Alex Wednt finished 15th in the boys discus throw with a distance of 92-11. Sophomore Chase Wagaman placed 1st in the boys high jump and had a height of 6-00. 

 

Freshman Joey Ferneding placed 5th in the 400 meter race and had a time of 56.90. Freshman Kolby Clark placed 7th in the 800 meter race and had a time of 2:16.
