The Mustang Construction class is building a shed for the PCM Softball Team this season. That is being built by the softball field at the high school. Seniors Mitchell Holmes, Joe Shaver, Izaac Bagby, and Addyson Covington have been looking for a good spot to put the shed, doing tasks like helping get the concert slab down and making sure it’s square, framing walls, and anchoring them down. Holmes says, “That they do this during Mustang Construction class, which is offered during fourth period.”
The advisor, Tim Crowder, works with Rusty Vos to teach these students on building as they built a little extension to the bus barn for the PCM Mat Club Wrestling. Vos is mostly down there to help the students when during open campus, as Crowder has other classes to teach. Crowder said that he and Vos could have built the shed in two weeks, but they are teaching the students how to construct. Crowder also pays for the lunches, as the class truly works so hard for graduating members of the class.
Senior Addison Hudnut says, “It will be like a storage shed for things like softball buckets, tees, and more, as the old one was falling apart, and we need a bigger upgrade.” Hudnut is very happy that they’re getting the upgrade to the old, small shed after years with it.
