Hi, I’m Kadence Kain and I’m a ninth grader here at PCM High School. Being a freshman isn’t the best but it definitely isn’t the worst. It’s a big change that I’m adjusting to and that I believe the rest of my classmates are too.
I was really scared the first week of school for many reasons. I was especially nervous about the upperclassmen just because they are older and we’re new to the building. But honestly they are all so nice! I am really sad because I won’t get to be with them my whole high school experience but it will all be okay in the end.
I was also nervous about sports just because I didn’t know the coaches and worried I wouldn’t do well. But I’m so happy I decided to play and take part in these activities. I’ve met some amazing people through school sports and activities.
Now since I gave you a little look into how I was so nervous, I’ll show you why I enjoy being a freshman. I get to see all my upperclassmen friends, have more freedom, and a bunch more opportunities. I’m also only four years left from graduating, which is exciting. One of my favorite parts about being in high school is the student section. It’s always so fun and something I look forward to! Even though freshmen are stuck in the back it’s still really fun and a good way to support our mustangs!
One of the best things I get to do this year is take psychology and I absolutely love it! Psychology has always been something that interested me, but it is also fun because it’s a class mixed with freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors so I can be a little more social and get to meet more people. It’s also really enjoyable because of the teacher, Mr.Schaeffer. He makes the class so much more fun then your average class. He always has an interesting but fun way of teaching. You really never know what he’s got planned.
Overall, being a freshman here at PCM High School has been a big adjustment, but it’s also been very exciting. I’m looking forward to seeing how these next four years are gonna go and I bet they’re gonna be great.
