Having a blind date with a book is better than going to a book store, because a blind date
with a book is really fun. You just know what genre and broad idea of what the book is
about then you buy it. You have to read the book to see if you like it. But then you get to
the book store you have to be there looking and reading two or three or more pages to
make sure you liked it. then if you don’t like it you have to look at a million more books
just to find one, unlike a blind date with a book you just pick a genre and pay for it then
go read.

My name is MaKenna Van Haaften. I chose to be a part of journalism because I wanted to be more involved with my school and community. I like the fact I get out of my comfort zone a lot in this class. This is my first year of doing journalism. Some activities that I do outside of school are mainly play with my puppy and hang out with my family this school year.
