I have decided to graduate one semester early during my senior year. I don’t want to be in school anymore. I want to be on my own and do things I enjoy. I also want to learn how to be an adult. I would love to start my future plans earlier than May. I also wish to have a house with my dog, best plan ever! We are best friends, wherever I go, so does he. He is like a therapy dog for me. He is a bigger dog that loves pup cups from Jersey Freeze. I want to be able to become a grown woman and get a job to make money sooner than after high school. I don’t like to be forced to do something like learn about something I don’t have interest in. I would like to go to college and learn about the things I am interested in, something like becoming a vet assistant. I have always loved to help with animals. I have had some experience in helping animals with some pets that I have had in the past.

My name is MaKenna Van Haaften. I chose to be a part of journalism because I wanted to be more involved with my school and community. I like the fact I get out of my comfort zone a lot in this class. This is my 2nd year and last of doing journalism. Some activities that I do outside of school are mainly working but when i have time i do hang out with my family this school year. I am looking forward to how comfortable I can be out and about with “new” people.
