The girl’s and boy’s Track and Field team traveled to Saydel for their Conference meet on Thursday, May 4. 

The top three finishers for the girl’s team included Ayla Barrett high jumping 5 feet tying for second place. Rylee Gallaher throwing shot put 36’6” placing first. Abi Teeter ran a time of 12:14.32 in the 3000 meter run placing her second. The 4 by 800 meter relay team of Tiffani Koonce, Paiten Rumbaugh, Addi Steenhoek and Raegan Vannoy ran a time of 10:47.82 placing them second. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Tori Lindsay, Jorja Teeter, Lillian Humpal and Morgan Karr ran a time of 1:09.11 placing them first. Koonce placed second in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:03.67. Karr ran a time of 15.87 in the 100 hurdles placing her first and Humpal followed behind her placing third with a time of 17.70. In the 200 meter run Karr placed third running a time of 28.02. Lindsay placed second in the 400 meter hurdles running a time of 1:11.55. A. Teeter placed third in the 1500 meter run, running a time of 5:33.08. The 4 by 400 meter relay team of Sophia Steenhoek, Rumbaugh, Lindsay and Koonce placed third running a time of 4:27.32. The team results ended up with the girl’s team placing second with 131 points. 

The top three finishers for the boy’s team included. Mark Bussan placed third throwing the shot put 43’02.50”. Gavin VanGorp jumped 19’11.50” in the long jump placing him second. The 4 by 800 meter run team of Carson Hanson, Coby Deraad, Joe Shaver and Riley Graber ran a time of 9:12.99. The 4 by 200 meter relay team of Griffin Olson, Jake Wendt, Evan Jones and Gabe Hobbs ran a time of 1:33.45 placing them first. The 4 by 100 meter relay team of Gavin Fenton, Hobbs, Olson and Jones ran a time of 44.40 placing them second. Fenton placed second in the 400 meter hurdles running a time of 59.48 and Olson followed right behind him in third running a time of 59.76. Jones got second place in the 200 meter run running a time of 23.54. Fenton placed first in the 110 meter hurdles running a time of 15.85. Jones also placed third in the 100 meter run with a time of 11.68 rounding out all of the top three finishers. The team results ended with the boy’s finishing in fourth place with 119 points. 

The boy’s and girl’s team will continue on to Pella on Monday, May 8 and Central Decatur on Thursday, May 11 for State Qualifying. State Track will take place on Thursday, May 18 through Saturday, May 20 at Drake.
