PCM Dance Team prepares for upcoming spring show

On March 13 at 2 p.m. the PCM Dance Team will hold their annual spring show, located at PCM High School. The show will consist of the team’s 2nd place Novelty routine, 2nd place Hip Hop routine, their 1st place Pom routine and their 7 soloist routines. The Colfax-Mingo Dance Team, a Wilson Dance Co. competition team routine, and dancers from Steppin’ Out Dance Studio, based in Monroe are also scheduled to perform. The girls are also planning a Co-Ed dance, along with a fun routine with their dads.

Before the show, the team will be offering a clinic for grades kindergarten through eighth grade. The clinic will begin with registration starting at 10:30 a.m. and the clinic will last up until the start of the show.

With the concern of COVID-19, the show will look a little different. Masks will be required throughout the building and tickets will be mandatory as there is a maximum number of people that can be in the gym at one time. Each clinic dancer will receive two tickets and PCM Dance Team Members will each receive four.

When the dance girls were asked how they feel about their big event coming up, they expressed many different emotions.

“I am excited for the show. I feel like it will be different this year because we can’t have as many people as usual but I’m still pumped!” said sophomore Isabelle Lorton.

“I feel nervous and excited at the same time!” said sophomore Savanna Disney.

“I don’t know how to feel about show because I’ve never had one,” said freshman Ryan Bennett.

“I’m excited for the show to happen but I’m nervous my family won’t be able to come to my senior event, but I’m super excited for the fun dances!” said senior Bess Telfer.

The dance team will continue to prepare for the upcoming event all week and will perform an amazing show!
