In honor of it being homecoming week last week I thought why not write about what homecoming is like for a sophomore in highschool. Everyone loves homecoming, but I’m writing about the most important night in my opinion, Spirit night. This was my first year doing tee-ping and powderpuff and it was so much fun.
So to start the day I had dance practice to prepare for dancing at Spirit Night. Then I had school. After school I went home and got ready for the parade. I got on the dance float and rode around town. Once we got back to the school we had more practice for dance. Once everyone was ready we went down to the field. I was sitting there for a while but it was fun seeing everyone on the court getting introduced and seeing the speeches up close. Then I danced. It was a bit stressful but I think we as a team did great. After, I ran off the field to go change for powderpuff.
I came out of the school just in time to see the crowning of the king and queen. I was so happy for them and screamed very loudly. Then it was time for powderpuff. I went on the field with everyone and started taking photos. After photos we went to warm up and get ready for the game. I didn’t play much but it was still so much fun. We won against the seniors and then lost against the juniors but it was still enjoyable. After the games it was time for tee-ping.
Us girls got all of our things then went to the party bus we were taking. We then went to Applebees to eat. We ate for about an hour and started tee-ping after midnight. As someone who has never done this before I was a bit nervous but it was so much fun. I always did the trees as they were my favorite thing to do. I did every single house and did not sleep on the bus once. At our first house I got a bit scared. I was walking with my friend and we heard a cough from a field where there were no cows. We started freaking out and one girl screamed very loud and we all yelled at her. It was kinda funny.
The next houses were great. The only bad thing is that we were losing people like crazy. Some girls just left and others slept. So there were only around five of us doing every house towards the end. Luckily we still worked hard and got everything done. After we were finished we ate breakfast at our last house. Then we all went home. By the time I pulled into my driveway it was 6 a.m. I showered then went to bed for about 45 minutes. Soon after I woke up and went to school. After school it was time for the homecoming game. I danced on the sidelines for the dance team then laid down with my parents because of how tired I was. That night I slept very well. That was my homecoming, I hope you enjoyed yours!
