The Mustang volleyball girls galloped west for their first tournament of the season at Dallas Center-Grimes High School. The team didn’t achieve the outcome they were hoping for, as they went 0-4 on the day, losing in straight sets to Algona, Nodaway Valley and Southeast Polk; they lost 1-2 to Des Moines Roosevelt.
Junior Kayla Jennings led the team on the day with 83 assists. Jennings was also the top server, going 17-18. Senior Ashley Van Gorp brought her shovel to the tournament as she recorded 21 digs on the day. Freshman Maddie Samson led the team in her first varsity action with five.
