New Faces in the Hallway

Meet PCM’s Foreign Exchange Students!

This year PCM High School is fortunate enough to have three foreign exchange students during the 2023-2024 school year. They are all staying with different host families and are having many experiences with their first few months in America.

Meylis Myradov is from Turkmenistan. He is currently staying with the Hicks family in Prairie City. Meylis misses his family and friends from home, but he is looking forward to making new connections with people in America. Meylis’s favorite foods in America are taco pizza, burritos, walking tacos, and pb&js. Meylis is looking forward to learning new skills in America and participating in different school activities.
Constanza Urtubia is our female foreign exchange student from Chile. Constanza is currently living with Jeff and Mandy Shannon in Monroe. Constanza says that her favorite thing about America so far is the people she has met. She is most looking forward to making new friends and memories in America and improving her English skills, while learning more about American culture. Constanza’s favorite food that she has tried in America is french fries, and she also really enjoys fruit punch flavoring. Constanza is very excited to finish the rest of her year here at PCM, but she does miss her dog and her family very much.
Athari Nasanee is our student from Thailand and he is currently living with the Havenstrite family in Prairie City. Athari is really looking forward to playing basketball this year and enjoys learning about American sports. Although the thing he misses most about Thailand is the food, Athari’s favorite American foods are Mac n Cheese bites and Casey’s breakfast pizza.
Athari is most looking forward to making new friends and trying new things in America.
