On May 8, the PCM golf girls made their way to the Westwood Golf Course in Newton for the Cardinal Invitational, another 18-hole meet. There were a total of nine teams at the invitational, the Mustangs came in seventh with a total of 233.
“I think playing two back-to-back 18-hole meets was catching up with them,” Coach Val Edwards said, in reference to sophomore Breanna Maher and freshman Steenhoek, who had lower scores than normal.
Despite being off her game, Maher still led the team, shooting a 47. Freshman Sabrina Reed followed Maher, shooting 57, with junior Abby Van Haaften close behind with a score of 59. Steenhoek shot a 70.
