With the past to their backs, the PCM Mustangs soccer travelled to Stuart to try to get a win against West Central Valley on April 30. Unfortunately for the Mustangs, they brought back a 4-0 loss.
The game started off evenly, as neither team could score for the longest time. Toward the end of the first half, West Central Valley seized the momentum and scored twice.
Into the second, it stayed fairly even once more, as neither team found any momentum. Lynnville-Sully senior Nick Lirio was given a yellow card when a collision between him and a player from West Central Valley occurred, and left Lirio injured and out the rest of the game. Furthermore, junior Ryan Kohlhof was also given a yellow card. Score-wise, West Central Valley found themselves to gain an even greater lead after scoring two more, ending the game 4-0.
“We are young,” Coach Darrin Telfer said. “but we need to bring a better energy and focus to the game. We also need to communicate, and work on fine tuning the little things.”
