It was a beautiful day for the boys’ golf team on April 27. They didn’t have to travel far, as the Mustangs were on their own course at Gateway Golf Course in Monroe. The boys placed top five out of nine teams with 346 points, only one stroke behind third place, four points behind second place and 13 points behind first place. Grinnell took home the first-place title.
“I want us to keep improving our scores for every meet we go to,” junior Reid Jenkins said.
Jenkins led the team, carding an 82. Seniors Wade Hill and Chase Keuning were five strokes behind Jenkins, shooting an 87. Freshman Dayton Boell carded a 90, while sophomore Ryan Hill was one stroke behind him with a 91. Freshman Noah Lanphier finished off the day, carding a 98.
The boys will play tonight, May 7, at Jewell Golf and Country Club, hosted by South Hamilton, at 4 p.m.
