What is your favorite color?

Different colors are good for different moods. Colors like light blue and green create happy aesthetics; black and red are good with darker emotions. Each season usually has some colors associated with it. Think green and red for Christmas or orange and black for Halloween. A wide variety of colors you like is okay, and you don’t have to limit yourself to one.

It’s such a simple question, but with such a not simple answer. I think a person’s favorite color is a way to see the inside of their soul. I always see things on TikTok that are like, “what your favorite color says about you,” and yeah that’s cool, but what is my favorite color? I don’t know. It’s such a deep question for me. I kinda feel like if I say my favorite color is pink once then I am forced to stay with that color my entire life, but one day I decide my favorite color is now green. That is just too confusing for me and I don’t like it.

I like to say that I like all colors. All colors serve different purposes, just like all shoes serve different purposes. Colors like pink, baby blue and yellow are all so cute, but very springy. I don’t want to be covered in those colors during the winter. Just like I wouldn’t want to be wearing as much black and dark red during the summer because they are winter colors.

The colors light pink and sage green will always hold a special place in my heart, but I’m also a sucker for shades of tan and oranges. There is no choosing a color, ever. As soon as I think I’ve decided, I am rudely awoken by something new and it goes like “woah RaeAnn,” check that out and then I’m pulled right back in again.

The good news is though, that I don’t have to decide because it doesn’t really matter. The only time people ask that question and really care about the answer is when they are getting to know you and want to know what color you want things to be, any other time I don’t actually think people care all that much.

It’s a question that in turn, isn’t that deep. But all the complex thinkers out there (myself included) could take it a bit farther. It’s just me overthinking as usual, but hey, I can’t help it. It’s just part of my makeup.
