Show Choir earns third place, Best Band

by Caleb Peter

On Saturday, Feb. 11, the PCM Show Choir was in competition at North Polk where the group earned third place in Class 2A. Their show band won Best Band. Their theme was a modern spin on Elvis songs. They sang and danced to the songs “Burnin’ Love,” “She’s Not You,” “Hound Dog,” “Don’t Be Cruel” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” It was their second competition in two weeks.

“I thought the show choir performed very well, they were much improved from their first competition. They sang really well,”Director Rocco Contini said. “In my personal opinion, I thought they sang way better than Marshalltown, who won first place. There’s always room for improvement and I think we’re gonna get to that highest points come Saturday,”
