‘Stangs stomp Saydel
by Drew Johnson
The PCM girls’ basketball team headed to Saydel looking for another win against the Eagles on Jan. 19. The Eagles are down this year with a record of 2-9. The Mustangs were coming off a tough loss against Pella and looked to turn things around with a win, which happened 59-13 and moved their record to 10-3.
Top scorers for the Mustangs were senior Katie Vande Wall with 16, freshman Reagan Freland with 15, and senior Alexis Timmins with 12. Kaylee Townsend and Kayla Jennings both scored six, Rachel Stafford had three, and Abby Waddell one.
“A lot of my success with offense goes back to my team. They give me great opportunities and awesome passes. A lot of our shots fell that night and that just helped everyone with confidence,” said Vande Wall. “We passed the ball well, had great looks inside the paint and out on the perimeter, and hustled and worked hard the whole game. It was definitely a team effort.”
