Girls soccer starting up

by Brady Fagen

With spring sports right around the corner, the Lady Stangs’ soccer team is off to a good start. This team of girls is combined with two other schools Lynville-Sully and Colfax-Mingo.

“Our goals are to play better as a team and continue to get more wins than we have in previous seasons. We want to have better passes and communication to better ourselves and hopefully have more success.” senior Abby Waddell said.

“We lost a lot of our strong players last year and I look forward to filling their shoes with the new people coming in. The people we lost had a big affect on our offensive positions. We have a full returning defense. What we will need to improve on is our offensive skills so we can fill those positions with no problem. We have a lot of returning and incoming talent this year and once we figure those things out, I think this will be a good season for us.” senior Jaiden Rodgers said.

The ladies will travel to Pella Christian for a scrimmage against the Eagles on Thursday, March 30. The scrimmage will start at 5:30 p.m.
