Tigers pounce on Mustangs

The PCM Varsity Volleyball Team traveled to Gilbert to play on October 4th. The 4-21 Mustangs knew that the 19-5 Tigers would be a very strong team. The Tigers certainly lived up to those expectations, beating the Mustangs three sets to none.

The first set did not go very well for the Mustangs. The final score was 25-5 in the Tigers’ favor. By the time that first set was over, it looked like there was a long night ahead for the Mustangs.

The second set looked much better for the Mustangs, but still wasn’t enough to claw the Tigers. Gilbert took the set 25-15.

Senior Katie Vande Wall lead the Mustangs in kills, with 7. Senior Kayla Jennings had the most assists with 8. Jennings also went seven for seven on serves. Senior Bailey Broderson had the lone PCM ace on the night.

For the Mustangs, the third set was less impressive. The result was Gilbert 25, PCM 9. The loss was the Mustangs’ twenty-second of the season.

Sophomore Avery Stock had a lot to say about how things went down that night. “We played volleyball that day.”

The PCM Varsity Team will play their next and final home game on Tuesday, October 11th at 7 p.m.
