Mustangs fall in three

by Logan Gilman

After an hour-long bus ride, the PCM Mustang volleyball team entered Roland-Story High School to play the Norsemen in their last Heart of Iowa Conference matchup of the season. The girls lost in straight sets with scores of 25-9, 25-15, 25-9
Sophomore Katie Vande Wall led the team with three kills.
The Mustangs are on a six-game skid right now heading into the playoffs. Senior Courtney Van Houweling said, “We have been giving way too many free balls, and the other team is drilling them right back at us, which is what we want to do to them not have them do that to us. Our communication has been hurting us, also.”
The Mustangs’ have a few things they need to improve on to make a run in the playoffs. Van Houweling said, “We need to improve on coming together as one instead of individuals. We need to work on serve receiving and getting a good pass to be able to get a good set to get an aggressive successful hit.”
