Oct. 7 marked Senior Night for the PCM Mustang volleyball team. For some of the players, this was
their last chance to play at home in front of the home crowd. The seniors were looking to go out with a Heart of Iowa Conference win against the Saydel Eagles. The Mustangs came out intense and never let up, winning three sets to none.
The first match was hard fought with PCM coming out on top 27-25 to take an early advantage. They finished the Eagles off in the next two sets, winning 25-21 in each.
Senior Courtney Van Houweling led the team with kills and digs, with eight and 15 respectively. Sophomore Jayci Vos led with 15 assists, and senior Emma Williams had 14. Vos was also the most efficient server on the evening, going 13-13 with one ace.
The three seniors on the team this year are Van Houweling, Williams and Mackenzie Clarke. Williams said, “Winning on Senior Night was indescribable. Nothing beats that feeling.”
