Mustangs card record-low score

by Logan Gilman
Coming off of record low scores, the Mustang boys’ golf team headed to Lincoln Valley golf course in State Center on April 19, for their next meet. The Mustangs came home with fourth place in the field of 10 teams, shooting another season low of 332.
Senior Reid Jenkins was the leader for the Mustangs, shooting an 80 and taking ninth individually. Sophomore Dayton Boell helped the Mustangs’ cause, shooting an 82 on the day. Junior Braden Phifer and freshman Reed Worth also brought in nice scores, each carding an 85. Junior Ryan Hill shot a 96 and senior Logan Gilman shot a 94.
Hill said, “We had some good individual scores but we are still hungry to get better. We are proving ourselves to the other 2A schools, don’t count us out.”
The Mustang golfers will be back in action tonight, April 28, at 1 p.m. at the Preserve Golf Course on Rathbun Lake at Honey Creek Resort.
