Girls golf ready to tee off 2016

by Logan Gilman

The PCM Mustang girls’ golf team tees up to start practice this week. The Mustang gals are bringing one of the biggest rosters they’ve had in the past five years to the links this season. This year’s team triples last year’s numbers, with 12 girls on the squad.
Returning members are senior Abby Van Haaften, junior Breanna Maher and sophomores Ellie Steenhoek and Sabrina Reed. The girls will be looking to build on a solid season last year, which saw Maher break three school records.
Van Haaften said, “Our goal as a team is to finally make it to State as a group. I’m really look forward to having a shot to finally beat Bondurant. I’m hoping to improve my score to a 58, and I want to really improve my driving ability.”
The Mustangs begin their season at their home meet at Gateway Recreation in Monro eon April 5.
