Well spoken: Speech results

Well spoken: Speech results

by Tyler Foster

Last Saturday, March 12, the PCM students competed at State Speech in Eldridge. With a variety of results, the overall turn out went well. Senior Karina Van Dyke received two Is and one II, Junior Morgan McDowell and sophomore Kinsey Phipps tallied two IIs and one I, junior Graham Davis was given three IIs. Sophomore Sidney Metzger also received three IIs.
“The highlight every year for me is being able to go and perform in front of people. The atmosphere of the competition is amazing, since you’re with so many people who love acting and singing just as much as you do,” Davis said.
This concludes the season for Speech members, as the lone senior Van Dyke will say goodbye.
“You learn so much from being in Speech. You learn how to be independent and practice on your own,” Davis later said. “It can take a lot of work to get to the level you want to achieve to be really great.”
