All-Iowa Honor Dance team makes their appearance

All-Iowa Honor Dance team makes their appearance

by Kenzie Johnson

On March 5, seniors Sam Rosonke and Olivia Olson; juniors Kelsie Dehaai and Savannah Buys; and sophomores Karsin Jenkins, Sydney Burns and Kenzie Johnson danced for the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team during halftime of the 3A girls’ State basketball game at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
All-Iowa has been around for 34 years. This year, 100 Iowa schools were represented.
Freshman Bella Sitzmann was an alternate. Johnson was originally an alternate as well, but she was chosen to perform when another dancer got sick.
“All-Iowa is one of my favorite parts about dance team. I have been a member of the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team the past four years,” Rosonke said.” “I am still amazed how 224 halftime dancers can create such an amazing performance in just a few days. There is nothing that compares to the rush you get during the performance and the sense of accomplishment it brings.”
Come join the PCM Dance Team Saturday, March 12 at their spring show starting at 4 p.m. at the PCM high school.
