The sky knew the Mustangs were about to dominate. The sky was cloudy and dark, but in the distance, the sun was shining through. On Dec. 1, both the girls’ and boys’ Mustang basketball teams took the long drive to challenge the South Hamilton Hawks. The girls defeated the Hawks 54-21 with a 3-0 record.
Junior Kayla Jennings led the team with 11 of the 22 turnovers total, 17 in the first half. Junior Katie Vande Wall scored 21 points, all of them in the first half.
“We take one game at a time. We all obviously want to win conference and go to State, but we try to set goals for games: play outstanding defense, limit turnovers, and just get better every game,” Vande Wall said.
