Horstman: Now a Mustang

Horstman: Now a Mustang

by Tyler Foster

Newly married Mrs. Brittni Horstman is taking on the role of PCM guidance counselor.
Horstman has the opportunity to serve PCM high school students and help them grow. She is a graduate from the University of Northern Iowa and a graduate from Garner-Hayfield High School, now known as Garner-Hayfield-Ventura located near Clear Lake. She loves to read and swim, but also has an interesting hobby you may not know about.
“I am a full-on Harley rider. My husband and I love to go on bike rides. We even leather up and wear our bandanas; it’s a lot of fun.”
Yes, Horstman is loves to ride bikes, but she also loves to guide students.  A guidance counselor’s job is to help students find out what they are going to do once high school is over, as well as setting classes and making sure every senior meets requirements to graduate.
Horstman is looking forward to “working with students one on one, or working with very small group settings. It’s fun to see these students go from one thing, like not knowing how to complete scholarships or what college they want to go to, then I get to see them grow and get better at making tough decisions like these.”
So students and parents, when you see Horstman, be sure to welcome a new teacher to our community.
