Big Little is a great opportunity for students to get involved in. Every week, you get to drive over to the elementary school and spend time with a younger student. You get to know the student and build a connection with them, which is one of the best things. You give your little someone to look up to, and you become someone they look forward to seeing every week. My student’name is Jacob, and he is one of the most enjoyable kids. We get along very well, and I definitely look forward to seeing him and getting to spend time together.
There is never a dull moment with Jacob; we do so many things, we often play Pictionary, which Jacob always wins. Otherwise, we just sit and draw, which he really enjoys. He often draws me pictures when we hang out. But besides drawing, Jacob and I both share a love for Legos. Just the other day, we spent our time building Lego cars. In the warm months, we often go and spend our time outside playing tag, hide and seek, pretend, and play on the playground.
Jacob and I don’t just spend our time playing, drawing, and building with legos we talk. We talk a lot, actually. Jacob loves to tell me about the most recent games he has played and movies that he has watched, as well as how his week has been going. So if you are a high school student wanting to give a kid a friend, a mentor, and just someone to talk to, Big Little is definitely for you.
