As the school year has come to a close, the seniors in band and choir have performed for the last time at PCM. There were eight seniors graduating this year including Konnor Bell, Kaden Clark, Max Kimball, Kylie Lewis, Hannah Minteer, Isabelle Masterson, Alexander Strayhorn-Brofosky, and Jake Winters. Most of these seniors have been in band their whole lives and have made strong connections with other band members. Through honor bands and invitationals, the connections and memories they’ve made will last a lifetime. This is Konnor Bell’s second year performing in the PCM concert choir but he has previously been involved in choir at Southeast Polk. He decided to join choir because he felt a passion for singing and hasn’t stopped. Similarly, Isabelle Masterson decided to join band after seeing the halftime performance at football games. She wanted to be a part of the performances and the positive in the band. Although band may not seem like the right fit Kaden Clark suggested,”If you don’t like it, you can always change your mind but I think it’s worth it.” The other seniors also agreed that students thinking of joining band should just try it out and if you don’t like it, at least you don’t feel guilty for not trying. Band also helps with meeting new people. Jake Winters stated,“You make connections with people you never thought you would,” he continued,”Putting in the hard work pays off” and you feel accomplished from the outcome. Thank you to all the seniors for the hard work and dedication put into band and choir, you will be missed.

Piper Clark, Website Editor
My name is Piper Clark, and this is my first year in journalism. I am a junior in high school, and I participate in the fall play, 4H, key club, student government, speech, NHS, choir, and honor choir. I enjoy volunteering, listening to music, and spending time with my friends. I decided to join journalism this year because it’s a good opportunity to meet new people and continue what I did in the yearbook on a higher level. I’m excited to edit an amazing website this year!
