PCM Track and Field earns last chance at state

The PCM Girls’ and Boys’ Track and Field team traveled to Leon on Thursday, May 11 for the State Qualifying Meet.  They went against eleven other teams to try to get into the state meet. 

The girls’ team resulted in Rylee Gallaher placing first in shot put with a throw of 37-03.75 securing her spot in state. The shuttle hurdle team of Tori Lindsay, Jorja Teeter, Lillian Humpal and Morgan Karr placed third with a time of 1:08.76, but still secured their spot to state with being one of the next eight fastest times. 

The boys’ team secured the 4 by 100 team of Gavin Fenton, Gabe Hobbs, Griffin Olson and Evan Jones with a time of 44.26. The 4 by 200 team of Fenton, Hobbs, Olson and Jones with a time of 1:32.64. Both of these relay teams placed second. The shuttle hurdle team of Fenton, Olson, Adrien Robbins and Gavin VanGorp with a time of 1:02.19 placed first automatically putting them in state. VanGorp placed fourth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.21 grabbing the last spot moving on to state.
