My future plans
My future plans involve the fact that I have always wanted to be an electrician like my dad. I grew up working on houses and doing some work for my dad or family. Recently I have thought of maybe going into the military. These two options are both things that are going to push me through life, which is what I want because I cannot be just sitting around all day in an office. I have always wanted to be working somewhere where they will keep me active. Whether that’s doing work out on a jobsite or going to the military doing work for our country.
These past few days are when the military really has come across my mind. I was on a tour for an electrical apprenticeship, which seemed quite hard, but I feel like I would get bored of the job even though there is a lot to do in the trade. If I go into the military, I might think about doing electrical work through them instead of going through the union, like I would if I did the apprenticeship. I always thought about health insurance as I grew older because at doctor’s visits my parents never really had to pay very much. The military also provides good health insurance because of the risks of anything happening to me.
Being an electrician has always been an option for me because all of my brothers have been electricians at some point in their life. I have already done work for my cousin as an electrician helper. It was fun but I don’t know for sure whether I want to do it for the rest of my life until I retire. Every job that anyone can do has their own challenges but these two jobs are going to challenge me more and help me through life. Even though I feel that I have always had a plan for after school I feel so unprepared for some of these challenges, but I feel like I am mentally capable of doing these things and even though they may be hard, I know I can do it.
This is my first year in Journalism. I took this class because the people in previous years had fun in this class writing articles and filming ThunderTV....
