On Oct. 21, the Mustangs held their last regular season game at home against the Clarke Indians for their senior night matchup.PCM beat Clarke 73-8.
The Mustangs stomped over their competition. Within the first 18 seconds of the game, PCM scored and put seven points on the board. This set the tone for how the Mustangs would play the rest of the game. By halftime, PCM was up 60-0. The second half was slow, but got interesting when Head Coach Greg Bonnett put in a few freshmen. PCM’s defense stopped the Indians the first few drives. Out of the blue came a pass, which resulted in a touchdown for the Indians. They then set up for the two point conversion and completed that. By the end of the game, the score was 73-8.
Senior James Snodgrass rushed the ball into the end zone for nine yards. Sophomore Cade McCombs ran it in for one yard. After he scored, there was a missed field goal. The clock ticked down to zero, and the Mustangs claimed the victory over the Indians.
The PCM Mustangs have had a great regular season, ending it with a record of 8-1. They continued to get better throughout the season and showed no mercy to the opposing teams. The Mustangs are not quite done this year, as they have earned their way into the playoffs. PCM will face the Roland-Story Norsemen for the first round of Districts at home on Oct. 28, with a starting time of 7 p.m.
