Track has had a great first week with 2 indoor track meets. Boys at Uni Monday and Girls Tuesday. Boys at ISU Thursday and girls Friday. The girls did an amazing job Tuesday at UNI and here are some results. Darbey DeRaad ran the 800 and got a time of 2:44.56, a very good time for her first meet along with the 800, Abi Teeter got 2:34 which got 12th overall. Lila MIlani also ran the 800 and got a final time of 2:32 which got her in 9th overall. Very great job to these runners now onto the girls 200 ran by Peyton Lathrum which ran a 29.68, Ryan Devore ran a 29.27, and Lillan Humpal with a 31.21. The girls who ran the 400 ran very well also. Paiten Rumbaugh ran a 1:09.03, Libby winters ran a 1:08.38, and Jorja Teeter ended with a 1:06.54. Stella Stravers ran a 9.27 60m, Addison Shannon 9.09, and Alyssa Buckingham ran a 8.97. Three girls ran the 60m Hurdles and got very good times. Lillan Humpal with a 11.08 and Tori Lindsay with a 10.95. Lastly the 4×800 ended with a 10:34.67 and the 4×200 ran a 2:00.36. The two girls who did high jump both got in the top 80 with Peyton Lathrum jumping 4’6 and Libby Winters jumping 4’2. Two girls did long jump and also made the top 80, Lexi Fagg jumped 14-05 and Alyssa Buckingham jumped 14-00. Three girls threw shot and all had a good night of throwing. Scarlett Mosher with a 28-07, Ila Keuning ending with a 27-02, and Zoe Hougham throwing 23-02. We interviewed senior Stella Stravers and asked her about her first track meet of the season and she said, “It was good to kind of get back into things and you know it’s always a long day at UNI, so that was good to get it out of the way “. Now onto boys, we interviewed senior Jake Winters about it being his last season of track and he replied, “ “. The boys also did a very good job at UNI Monday, here are some results. In the 800, Kash Fischer finished with a time of 2:07 and Owen Osterhaus ended with a 2:27. All 3 relays ended with a good finish as the 4×400 got 3:49, the 4×200 ended with 1:41, and the 4×800 got 9:01. The boys 60m hurdles both finished in the top 90 with Jaden Houser ending with a 9.48,Gavin VanGorp ending with a 8.96, and Jake Winters with a 9.79. Three boys ran the 60 meters and Adrien Robbins ending with a 7.39, Lewis Daye with a 7.40, and Evan Jones ending with a 7.52. Three boys ran the 400 with Riley Graber getting 6th place with a 52.49, Joey Ferneding with a 57.95, and Carson Hansen ending with a 58.62.
