District Technology Associate Sean Balzer and his wife Heather are expecting a baby, due June 1, 2017. Sean and Heather have been married for almost six years.

The Balzers are keeping the gender a secret to everyone including themselves. “I think it’s a girl. I want a boy, but will be happy no matter what. Heather thinks it’s a girl and is also happy either way,” he said. “We are both just happy to get the opportunity to have a kid.”

As the baby planning starts, the family is working on getting the nursery painted. They have already bought a crib. “Heather is looking everywhere for decoration ideas,” he said. “Pinterest has been her best friend lately. Of course, I’m reading books on how to parent.”

After getting 347 likes on the announcement photo on Facebook, many people are excited for the Balzer family. They have wanted a baby for close to three and a half years.

“We have a boys’ name picked out and are still looking for a girls’ name. This has been a great debate in our house lately, but it is all top secret with us since we are not finding out the gender of the baby,” he said.

Sean said finally, “I’m excited to have a little shadow follow me wherever I go. I traveled everywhere with my dad before his passing. He always wanted to show me new experiences whether it was local or abroad with sports, cars [or] projects around the house. I would like to pass that on to my future child.”
