Weekend wrap for boys’ golf

The PCM boys’ varsity golf team had two meets last weekend, May 6-7. The first was at the Ames Country Club, hosted by Gilbert, with the team finishing third overall, while the second was a Saturday tournament at Colfax, where the Mustangs placed 2nd.
When the team traveled to Ames, senior Reid Jenkins led the way, shooting a 40, while sophomores Dayton Boell, Noah Lanphier and Jackson Thomas shot 45, 46 and 47, respectively. Junior Ryan Hill rounded out the squad with 49.
“I’m really looking forward to winning sectionals and getting better as a team to reach our ultimate goal of state.” said Jenkins.
At Colfax, Hill won medalist honors with a round of 80. Jenkins got fifth place carding a score of 81. Boell and Thomas shot 89 and 90, respectively. Van Ryswyk finished with a 92, and Lanphier followed with a 93.
The Mustangs are at sectional next on Friday, May 13, in Conrad with a to be determined start time.
